1. How can I tell if my ICC number/MC number is active?
You can call our office and we will be glad to assist you, or you can look it up online. Just go to our link at the top left of the page that says, "Authority status"
2. How long will it take before I can use my ICC number/MC number?
We can have your ICC number/MC number back in under an hour, but it takes 18-21 days for your ICC number/MC number to activate. Once your ICC number/MC number is active, you are legal to run!
3. Can I get a faxed copy of my ICC number/MC number?
Yes! Once your ICC number/MC number is active, you will get a Certificate of Authority mailed directly to you from FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier System Association). If you want a copy of your ICC number/MC number sooner, you can obtain a copy the same day you are active for $25.00 by calling our office. Ask a representative for more details!
4. Until I get my ICC number/MC number, can I lease my services to a for-hire carrier with operating rights? 65
Yes! You can haul under someone else's ICC number/MC number until your ICC number/MC number becomes active.
5. How can I change my ICC number/MC number information (example: address, phone number, etc.)?
If you need to change information on your ICC number/MC number, keep your pin number on file and call our office, we can change that information for you.
6. What do I do if I don't have my pin number?
Call us! We can request another one for you!
7. Will I keep the same ICC number/MC number if I change my name?
Yes! The only time your ICC number/MC number changes is if you purchase a new authority!
8. Where can I check on my safety rating for my ICC number/MC number?
You can call our office and someone will be glad to assist you, or you can look up your safety rating at www.safersys.org
9. Why is my ICC number/MC number not active?
If your ICC number/MC number is not active yet, it could be one of a few reasons. If it has not been 18 days since you applied, it might not be active. If your insurance is not on file, or if your BOC-3 is not on file, you may not be active.
10. Why is my insurance not showing up on my ICC number/MC number?
If your insurance is not showing up on your ICC number/MC number, it could be because it hasn't had time to post or because your insurance company has not filed the required ICC filings.
11. How can I put my ICC number/MC number on hold?

12. How can I reinstate my ICC number/MC number?
If your ICC number/MC number is inactive, call our office and we can get you reinstated within 24 hours for $105.00. Ask a representative for more details.
13. Can I get a temp ICC number/MC number until my ICC number/MC number is active?
Once you apply for your ICC number/MC number, you will get your ICC number/MC number back in under an hour. That ICC number/MC number will be your permanent number; but, until it is active you are not legal to run out of state.
14. What is a BOC-3?
A BOC-3 is a Blanket of Coverage required to be on file for your authority to activate. It is also called your "Processing Agents".
15. If I have already paid for my BOC-3, why are people calling?
The calls you receive after you apply for your authority will be sales calls. These sales representatives are trying to sell you your BOC-3. You do not need to purchase it more than once. The BOC-3 is included in the authority package you purchase from The Financial Integrity Group. These calls should not last more than one hour after your authority is applied for. You will also receive a large amount of mail at the begininng. These are also sales representatives sending information on their services.
16. What do I need to look for in the mail?
The only thing you need to watch for in the mail is paperwork from the FMCSA or the US Department of Transportation. The FMCSA will be sending your Certificate of Authority. The Department of Transportation, or USDOT, will be sending a letter to schedule your first audit. You also need to watch for anything from The Financial Integrity Group, that's us!
17. How long do I have after I apply for my ICC number/MC Number to put insurance on file?
You have up to 1 year to get insurance on file. TheFMCSA will dismiss your ICC number/MC Number after 60 days of not filings, but there is no charge to undismiss it until a year has passed. Then you may be required to repay for the application. You will still keep the same number unless you request a new one.
18. What is the difference between a Common Carrier, Contract Carrier and Brokerage?
Common carriers provide for-hire truck transportation to the general public. Common carriers must file both liability insurance and cargo insurance.
Contract carriers provide for-hire truck transportation to specific, individual shippers, based on contracts. Contract carriers must file only liability insurance.
Brokers arrange for the truck transportation of cargo belonging to others, for compensation, using for-hire carriers to provide the actual truck transportation. Brokers must file either a surety bond or trust fund agreement.
19. Where can I get loads?You can hire a broker to get loads for you, or you can sign up with one of the many companies online. (Example: Getloaded.com )
